The UF Center for Pain Research and Behavioral Health is lucky to have had Donald D. Price, PhD (1942-2016), and Marc W. Heft, DMD, MA, PhD (1948-2020) as long-time members, friends, and mentors. Both Drs. Price and Heft were preeminent pain researchers and influential scholars. Center trainees at all levels (postdoctoral, predoctoral, and undergraduate) are eligible for two awards named in their honor.
Donald D. Price Memorial Publication Award
The Donald D. Price Publication Award recognizes Center trainees who publish first-author manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals that reflect Dr. Price’s high standard of scientific rigor. Recipients of the award will receive a small cash award and a plaque acknowledging their achievement.
Marc W. Heft Memorial Travel Award
Dr. Heft was an enthusiastic traveler and firmly believed in the importance of making connections with fellow scientists. Center trainees presenting their work at a national or international meeting consistent with the mission of the Center will be eligible for the Marc W. Heft Memorial Travel Award, which will cover some or all of their travel costs.
